Create your own Anti-Racist Practice Group

  • Together, we can end racism

We believe that the key to healing racism and undoing white supremacy is using an embodied approach within community.

We offer a free training to encourage others to set up their own embodied anti-racist practice group. Using a combination of somatic exercises, readings, lecture, and Q & A, we will share with you how our group process works and give you a guide to set up your own practice group. None of us can heal white supremacy alone, and we need to build community and culture to come out of freeze and into action. This requires an approach that is more that just talking. Our process helps people tune into to their nervous systems and works with their embodied responses towards liberation and healing.

  • About Us

We are a group of white-bodied people based in Minneapolis, MN who have been meeting weekly in our anti-racist practice group since July 2016. We meet every Friday evening to engage and work to challenge white body supremacy. We started meeting as a personal consciousness-raising group, focusing on our thoughts and strategies for affecting change in the aftermath of the killing of Philando Castile.

In 2017, we met Resmaa Menakem and started using his book, My Grandmother’s Hands. We then adopted a body-based practice group format. At the start of COVID, we started offering our free training online to help others set up their own groups.

  • Our Training

Note: We have paused our free trainings due to low attendance. In 2020, we had 40 people taking our free training every single month. Now we get only a couple of sign-ups every quarter so we have paused to focus on our upcoming summit. Instead we recommend you check out Resmaa Menakem’s Somatic Abolitionism Course.
